Our Roots Grow Deep in the Desert Soil
Saguaro Blossom Yoga is a homecoming—returning to Arizona with decades of practice, a heart for healing, and a vision for cooperative community wellness.
Rebecca's Journey Home
I grew up in Arizona, where the Sonoran Desert taught me resilience, patience, and the beauty of blooming exactly where you're planted. From childhood through college, dance was my language—movement, breath, and expression woven together. Yoga found me early and stayed with me through every chapter: 30+ years of practice that evolved from personal exploration to professional calling.
After college, I transitioned into elementary education, where I discovered my passion for social-emotional wellness. Working with young minds showed me how profoundly movement, breathwork, and mindfulness can support emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and overall well-being. That insight shaped everything that followed.
In 2020, my husband Justin and I moved our family to Florida's Lithia/FishHawk area. There, I founded FishHawk Yoga & Wellness, earned my RYT-200 certification in 2022, and completed specialized training in Social Emotional and Trauma-Informed wellness. I worked with students of all ages and abilities, learning that yoga's greatest gift isn't flexibility or strength—it's the permission to show up exactly as you are.
Now, we're coming home. Justin, our three sons (Theo, Cooper, and Cade), and I are returning to Arizona to plant roots in the place that first taught me to grow.
Saguaro Blossom Yoga isn't just a yoga studio—it's a cooperative community built on the values I've carried for decades: accessibility over exclusivity, healing over performance, and community over competition.

Our Teaching Philosophy
Functional Mobility Over Fancy Shapes
Yoga is about how your body moves, not how it looks. We don't chase Instagram poses—we build strength, flexibility, and ease for your daily life.
Every Body is a Yoga Body
Your alignment is personal and unique. We meet you where you are, honor your body's wisdom, and grow together—never forcing, always inviting.
Trauma-Informed, Always
Choice, predictability, and safety guide every class. We use invitational language, offer modifications, and create space for you to honor your needs.
Community Over Competition
Yoga is not a performance. This studio is a sanctuary where comparison has no place and every person belongs.
Why a Cooperative?
Traditional yoga studios often exploit teachers—paying poverty wages while charging premium prices. They concentrate power in the hands of a single owner and treat students as transactions. We're building something different.
For Teachers
- • 65-70% revenue share (not 30-40% industry standard)
- • Democratic governance (one member, one vote)
- • Equity stake for founding members
- • Autonomy over scheduling and teaching style
- • Community support and continuing education
For Students
- • Sliding scale pricing (accessibility without stigma)
- • Input on class offerings and schedule
- • Transparent financials (no hidden profit-taking)
- • Diverse teaching styles from empowered instructors
- • Values-aligned community ownership
“Cooperation is the thorough conviction that nobody can get there unless everybody gets there.”
—Virginia Burden
